So in love
With nature’s presence
Feeling the breeze
Rush through my hair
Making me teary eyed
As a Cardinal flies by. 

Swallowing hard
As this feeling
Of beauty and love
Settles into my heart. 

You’ve given me a reason to live
You’ve helped me find purpose
Making my grief
Have meaning
Knowing my beloved
Is not gone
From my side.

Can’t image by life
Without your subtle love
As your gentleness
Guides me
To be present
Like a butterfly
And to flow
Like a river. 

My life continues
Moving in the direction
That opens my soul
Following the signposts
Provided.

For I know
‘Twas your beauty
That guided
Me out of brokenness
As I learned to
Dance with you
In my darkness.
