Happy Place 8/13/2023

It may
Start with
A subtle smile
Or giggle
At something
Cute and innocent
Like a beautiful butterfly.

Leading to
Softening
My exterior shell
And gently letting go
Of any tension
Or stress
With the day at hand.

Reminding myself
I get to choose where
And when
To go to my
Happy place
In my thoughts.

Today
Imaging myself
Connecting to nature
In a field of sunflowers
All looking at me
And waving hello
Wishing me well.

Staying
As long as needed
Knowing
This feeling of happiness
Is under my control
Of mindful awareness
And available
Anytime I want.
