Clinging Old Vine 06/10/2021
Not easy to let go
Pain from loss
Intertwined with love
Like an old vine
Clinging endlessly
To a wall.
Tis a heart connection
That binds us firmly
To our beloved
Dear one
Within the heart.
Inexperienced with grieving
Allowed emotions
To control my thoughts
Caused deep despair
And felt so lost.
Didn’t understand
Grief could be friendly
And transformative
Just need willingness
To open up.
Must befriend the soul
With compassion
And kindness
Allowing healing
And growth to occur
From inside out.
Within the stillness
And mindful breath
Accepted grief
Cooperated with pain
Allowed myself to
Feel the hurt
Without any questions.
Time, time, time
See what time
And I accomplished
With willingness and intention.
Healing transpired
Within a mindful practice
Finding peace of mind
And without any doubt
Clarified my purpose in life.
