Every now and then
Questions from the past
About loss
Emerge
And down
A black hole I go.

Afraid the best years
Have passed me by
As drops of tears
Glide down my cheeks
While listening
To the sounds
Of my broken
Heartbeat.

Fear of the unknown
Present
Within the
Total eclipse
Of my heart
Feeling paralyzed
And lost
Wondering what’s next.

Clinging to the pain
Tied to memories
Yet I know
Within my core
You are never
Far from me.

Change
Must occur tonight
Need to take my heart
On a joy ride
As I feel
The strength
Within me rise up.

Exhaling deeply
While releasing
Pain and fear
So only
Peace and love
Remain
As we live together
In beautiful memories
Starting now.
