More Than Enough 8/21/2023

Looking into the mirror
Who do I see?
At first
It’s a wrinkled face
Gray hair and
Saggy skin.

But then I feel an
Inner nudge
To look beyond
This facade
To really see
Who I am?
Inside the heart.

Tears well up
Gliding down my face
For I see
My mother, my father
My handsome son
All smiling at me.

I am all of them
Within my heart
I am more than
This body
And more than
What I felt
And did before.

I am God’s child
I am a beautiful soul
Made with stardust
Of the Universe.

But now
I am of this earth
Trying to understand
All pieces of it
Including loss.

I am everything
And nothing
I am the sum of
All I did in the past.
I am enough
Just the way I am.
