Can’t change the world
Can’t change society
But I can learn
To change myself
And that’s a step
In the right direction.

Using
Fire with fire
Makes heat hotter
As undesireable tensions
Releases pain and anger.

Look for love
In every situation
Breaking the hard shell
That surrounds each of us.

Look at the core
Deep within the heart
Like a jelly bean
Soft and sweet
Tis where
Compassion resides.

Loving self
First
Offering tenderness
To heal the wounds
Unknowingly
Absorbed by us.

Key to unlocking
The door to change
Is embracing compassion
As a outcome of love.

Now watch intently
The ripple affects
On others around us
As change gently
Persuades all of us.
