Brand New Morning 05/18/2021

Lying in bed in a dreamy state
Early morning sounds start to awake
Garbage trucks grinding its metal teeth
Ice cubes made just dropped
Wondering what today will bring me.

Lying in bed in a dreamy state
Early morning sounds continue to awake
AC popped on with a loud sigh
And the snooze alarm just vibrated
Wondering if today I’ll cry again
For my heart has been broken.

Feeling anxious
Want to rise but also want to stay
Embracing the silence
Not wanting to decide
To stay or move forward.

The shower started calling me
It’s time to wake sleepy head
Wondering
Is this going to be just another day?

Paused and reflected
How can this day
Be just another day
Tis a brand-new morning
With purity and freshness in the air
Offering another chance
To get things right.

For everything we do today
We learned from yesterday
Helping us to make better choices
As they appear in our daily life.

May we be wise like an owl
And learn from past mistakes
Making each day exciting
Filling it with purpose and clarity
And accepting life as it appears today.
