Discovering the true self
And who you are
Often eludes us
For our search
Is always
Outside the heart.

Close the eyes
Initiating
The inward journey
Often difficult to achieve
But is needed
For truth and understanding.

The visual sensory
Can be misleading
What we humanly see
And perceive
Is only a covering.

Finding the stillness
And silence
Within deep
Rhythmic breathing
Open the heart
And say nothing
While only listening.

Tis the key
To discovering the truth
While unlocking
Layers of protection
Peeling away old beliefs
Revealing the core
Of true identity.

Surrendering
To the power of life
Exposing
What is and isn’t
Tis the first step
Of acceptance
And believing
Who you really are
Inside the human self.
