Pay Attention 10/18/2021

For many years
Pushed
Or pulled
My life
Never took time
To stop 
And look
At the clouds
In the sky.

But a personal tragedy
Occurred
Suddenly
And without warning.

Knocking the wind
From my sails
Making me feel
Damaged.

Struggled with grief
Tis a difficult
Emotion
To understand
And befriend.

Intuitively guided
From the heart
To loving kindness
And deep breathing
As a way to be present
Within
My emotional storm.

Compassion and kindness
Wrapped in
An element of time
Aided in the healing
From inside out.

Grateful
For the experience
Learned to
Pay attention
And wake up
My awareness
To actually
 Feel and see
The clouds in the sky.
