Overdrive 2/14/2023

Racing heartbeat
Feeling anxious
Can’t stop thinking
These thoughts
That keep me
In this state of
Stressful
Nervousness.

Is this what I want?
Is this what I need?
Trying to relax
But my mind is in
Overdrive
And going on
A wild
Stressful ride.

An epiphany appears
Out of the blue
Tis my body’s reaction
Of wanting to be right
And afraid
Of what might happen
If I lose control
Of the situation.

Sighing loudly
As the emotional lesson
Smacks me hard
Thanking my
Soulful Self
For guiding me out
Of this quagmire.

Rose above the situation
Became an observer
Asked the human self
To rest gently
Allowing my angst
To be released
Downshifting
My thoughts
Back into a neutral
Experience.
