Bear Hug 3/29/2024

My world turned
Upside down
Didn’t feel connected
Didn’t feel protected
Everything changed
And nothing made sense
Since you’ve been gone.

My thoughts
Whirlwind
Around loss
Fearful to live
Without you
Fearful to move
Forward with the
Hole in my heart. 

Found strength
Within my darkness
In the words heard
Everything
Will be alright. 

Your death
Will not be in vain
Felt certain
That would happen
But didn’t know how
Or what direction. 

Closed my eyes
Breathed deeply
Feeling a freshness
Feeling a presence
As loving kindness
Embraced me
While starting
My healing journey.

A new understanding
About life enfolded
Sensing a difference
In myself
One
That’s better
Than before. 

No longer fearful
Sensed
Your spiritual presence
Is always with me
Feeling your love
Boldly
As an energetic bear hug.
